About the District
The Aledo School District is located in northwest Illinois and covers an area of 168 square miles. The school district has three schools with a combined enrollment of 918 students. A long history of educational excellence, parental involvement, and community support characterize the district. A broad array of academic and extra-curricular opportunities are available to the students.
The city of Aledo is the county seat for Mercer County and has a population of 3,600. The community's 150-year history is rooted in agriculture, but some residents now work in the nearby metropolitan areas of Muscatine and an area locally known as The Quad Cites (Rock Island, Moline, Davenport, and Bettendorf).
